WEEK 2: Ask-a-Diviner Video Segment

(Asynchronous)

Posted on the Second Saturday of the Month

Our members adore this feature, and we do, too! Whether you're curious about a specific aspect of divination or tarot, or are seeking guidance about your personal life, all questions are welcome and no topic is off-limits.

Our Ask a Diviner feature offers a relaxed, but engaged avenue for Lou, Kristen, and Selah to provide insightful responses to member inquiries. In the membership portal, you can submit a question for consideration and once a month, we select several to address in a 15 – 20 minute video you can watch at your convenience. These captivating short discussions combine divinatory insights, honest dialogue, extensive professional experience, as well as a lot of humor and care.

WEEK 3: Newsletter

Once a month, you’ll receive the Four Queens Membership newsletter containing focused content including curated mini-essays and carefully curated resource lists—a monthly go-to for inspiration and insight.

WEEK 4: Divination Study Hall

(Live on Zoom)

Last Saturday of the Month: 11 am PT | 12 pm MT | 1 pm CT | 2 pm ET

Join us at the end of each month for a casual 1-hour community gathering. We kick things off with a simple theme or prompt, but the real magic is in connecting, sharing stories and reports from the field, working with the cards, and having great conversations.

About Selah Saterstrom

“I was taught that divination is a realm where we willingly engage with the benevolent invisible and in so doing, open to the possibility of cultivating a unique relationship with uncertainty, one infused with deep significance. Divination encourages compassionate curiosity as a response to our experiences, recognizing that nothing heals or shifts in a space of shame or judgment. Through divination we connect with strategies and frameworks that can guide us in aligning with our holiest iteration of self. Rather than fixating on predetermined outcomes, divination centers liberation, reminding us of our inherent agency.”

Selah Saterstrom is a celebrated diviner who practices a Southern family-style of card reading. Over the past three decades, she has dedicated herself to providing divinatory guidance to her communities. She is the author of five books, including Ideal Suggestions: Essays in Divinatory Poetics, which has garnered widespread critical acclaim. As a distinguished educator, she has shared her knowledge through teaching and lecturing across the United States and internationally and serves as a highly regarded consultant, lending her insights to various organizations and institutions who seek to (re)vision their mission and values. At the core of Selah's work is the belief that divination possesses formidable capabilities to navigate oppressive structures and unveil profound revelations in the name of generative transformation. Divination, for Selah, is an inseparable and essential aspect of her mission to serve others. Read more about Selah.

About Lou Florez

At its core, divination is about discerning the movements of consciousness—the sentient journey of spirit as it transitions from the intangible into physicality. It's akin to watching verbs dance within the framework of nouns; a dynamic interplay of action within form. This sacred art is both an exploration and a conversation illuminating the path to our innermost brilliance. It seeks to amplify the voice of intuition, an energetic vocalization resonating within every cell, echoing through our being since our earliest emergence in this body, across multiple incarnations of this self.

Divination transcends simple forecasts of what may come. It delves into the profound dialogue that occurs between and within the various strata of the self. It probes questions that animate our existence: What sparks a signal's journey across a synapse? From where does desire well up in our hearts? What fuels our resolve to face each new day, even when shrouded in despair or dulled by the world's bleakness?

This practice is not just about foreseeing futures; it's about understanding the present in its deepest sense. It's about recognizing the silent, yet incessant communication that underpins our every thought, feeling, and impulse. Divination serves as a bridge, connecting the conscious and the subconscious, the seen and the unseen, the known and the mysterious. It's a tool for self-reflection, a guide to inner wisdom, and a medium for unraveling the enigmas of the soul. Through these practices, we learn to listen to the subtle whispers at play within our inner selves, gaining insights that propel us forward, navigating the complexities of life with a renewed sense of purpose, clarity, and understanding.

Lou Florez (Awo Ifadunsin) is a diviner and metaphysical reader who facilitates spiritual connectivity and transformational empowerment throughout his myriad roles as a Priest, lecturer, author, medicine maker, and activist. His work is inherently interdisciplinary and intersectional—bridging the fields of herbalism, ecology, divination, poetry, psychology, religious studies, gender and sexual studies, mixed-media art, and perfumery. Lou investigates the emanating Spirit present within all these fields and incorporates them into experiences that activate the Spirit within. Read more about Lou.

About Kristen E. Nelson

At its heart, divination is about gaining insight into ontological approaches—it is less about predicting a singular outcome, and more about seeing alternative paths through. When I pull cards, I seek illumination for the querent with the support of my guides, my oracle, and my intuition. In a world full of uncertainty, divination offers a way of visioning and re-visioning ourselves, our lives, our challenges, and our celebrations.

Kristen E. Nelson is a queer writer and performer, diviner, teacher, and community builder. Kristen has been studying divination for 28 years and has been working with clients for over 20 years. Her specialties are tarot card readings and prescriptive magic solutions for crossed conditions. She reads primarily from Daughters of the Moon tarot, a feminist interpretation of the Rider Smith Waite deck. Kristen is the author of the length of this gap (Damaged Goods, August 2018) and two chapbooks: sometimes I gets lost and is grateful for noises in the dark (Dancing Girl, 2017) and Write, Dad (Unthinkable Creatures, 2012). She lives in Santa Cruz, California and is pursuing a PhD in Creative/Critical Writing at UCSC.
